MECO's approach to project management incorporates the remediation/ construction process as a whole. With the multidiscipline experience of our staff, each phase of a project is managed to meet the desired final outcome. MECO enlists the expertise of subcontractors for input on highly specialized technical aspects of a project. MECO manages the project by incorporating each subcontractor’s expertise and services into a comprehensive plan. MECO’s site representative is qualified to make field decisions which will keep the project on schedule. The integrity of the design is maintained through the project and any potential design changes are addressed with the engineer.
Projects are controlled through proper scheduling of tasks with the input and
buy-in of all involved. Adherence to the schedule is a major component to maintaining project budgets. The schedule is tracked and updated using Microsoft Project scheduling software.
Each phase of a project is managed by the MECO management team to ensure continuity of the process, efficient utilization of necessary resources, and cost-effective management of those required resources. MECO’s staff develops positive working relationships with all entities involved in a project, including federal, state, and municipal agencies, designers, subcontractors, and all other interested individuals and organizations. Maintaining favorable working relationships throughout the construction/remediation process allows better project control and achievement of the most favorable outcome for the client.
MECO manages the site investigation to meet the regulatory requirements as well as the client’s future site use needs. Safety of the field tasks is of the highest priority for any project, and this is made top priority for all subcontractors. The investigation is designed as part of a comprehensive plan to provide information for regulatory closure and for the most likely remedial designs.
Many times the environmental investigation is spurred by ongoing construction. The expertise of MECO’s personnel allows the investigation and subsequent remediation process to be performed during the construction phase; this minimizes costly construction delays.
The remediation/construction phase of any project is usually the most costly phase with the most potential for cost overruns. MECO’s project managers are qualified to oversee field operations and to make field calls that keep the project moving. This minimizes change orders, construction delays, and cost overruns.
MECO Environmental Services, Inc. is a full-service, environmental/construction management company, fully bonded and insured, with an excellent reputation managing projects ranging from thirty thousand to ten million dollars.
MECO’s experienced personnel will effectively manage each phase of a project in a cost-effective, efficient, and professional manner to achieve the client’s goals. The Massachusetts Department of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) has certified MECO in General Construction and Sewer Pump Stations.
